AIBO is a series of robotic pets designed and manufactured by Sony. AIBO is a small robot, autonomous, supposed to look like a dog and have the behaviors of a dog. The first consumer model was introduced on May 11, 1999. On January 26, 2006 Sony announced that it would discontinue AIBO.

After more than a decade away, Sony has decided to resurrect its iconic robot pet brand with a brand new model simply called “aibo” (model number ERS-1000).
